The Edge GUI – Configuration and Management

Nexsan Edge Management – NEM™ – provides a unified interface to Microsoft WUDSS management services and Nexsan storage system management. The Edge management system is simple to learn and use and offers a single-pane-of-glass view into your Edge system.

The Edge management system enables administration and monitoring of all WUDDS services and storage for terabytes of capacity and 100’s of volumes. It can be accessed across any LAN, MAN or WAN. The user interface is simple, automated, and intuitive. It greatly reduces the time it takes to perform administrative tasks.

In addition to NEM, the native Microsoft WUDDS management interface and services can be used to administer the entire NAS server. User authentication for The Edge include: Microsoft® Windows Server™ 2003 Active Directory® service, Kerberos, Windows NT Domains, NTLM, and Apple User Account Management (AUM), NIS.

Sample Nexsan Edge Management

Additional access via the RS-232 serial port or network interface to an ANSI terminal or emulator.
Event log for all significant events stored on disk.
Single click access to summary of all problems and warnings.
Arrays are verified before being put into production; automatic "parity scrub" (array verify) is performed as a background task every 24 hours thereafter.
Shows status of disk drives, power supplies, fans, RAID controller. Information is automatically refreshed.

The Edge Warranty/Support/Services

Support services for The Edge NAS server:
The Edge ships with NEXSAN On-Guard Support Services. On-Guard Support Services cover the entire Edge NAS server including all supplied components and systems. On-Guard service levels include next business day or 24 x 7 x 4hr. Both service levels can include on-site spares for an additional charge and can be purchased in one year increments. Please contact your local Nexsan representative to determine which service levels are available for your area.

Next Business Day On-Site:
Next Business Day support provides Monday through Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM (your local time excluding holidays) on-site service with “Next Business Day” response. Replacement parts are shipped via overnight service and, if requested, a service representative will be onsite between 8:00AM - 5:00PM the following business day. Software related issues are generally managed remotely from our support center.

24 x 7 x 4hr Onsite:
Gain the fastest and most comprehensive level of support, which delivers 24x7 with a same-day, 4 hour response time. Replacement parts are hand delivered with a service representative that will be on-site within 4 hours, if requested. Software related issues are generally managed remotely from our support center.

Support services for Nexsan storage systems attached to The Edge:
Nexsan Technologies SASBoy, SATABoy, and SATABeast storage systems are warranted for three full years from the date of shipment. Upon verification of failure, replacement equipment will be shipped out to our customers. Return material authorizations will accompany all equipment shipped and can be issued either by our phone, fax, or email. (drive warranties vary and may exceed three years; warranties are non-transferable without prior consent from Nexsan)

On Location Pre-Exchange Program:
An industry first program for maximum protection of critical storage devices, this program provides customers with an on location unit that features fully redundant fail-over hardware including the chassis for a nominal annual charge. This program enables our customers to have in their rack chassis a fully implemented system. Along with our 24-hour free phone support, customers can now be assured of rapid resolution to any problem. Defective components can then be advance replaced for constant availability.

On Site Warranty:
Nexsan offers World Wide On-Site support seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. (Some countries and costs vary, check with your sales representative for specific regional details). A simple call to our European or North American support offices and we will assist in diagnosis and dispatch an on-site technician as required. A call tracking number will be issued for convenience to our customers.

Nexsan Technologies is fully staffed in providing multiple regional Support centers in North America, United Kingdom and Central Europe.
