Magstar
MP (Multi Purpose) 3575 family of tape libraries provide unattended storage for
the mid-range systems and network servers. Magstar MP 3575s have been
enhanced with the new multi-path architecture, providing:

Magstar MP model C drives
(standard on all Magstar MP 3575 libraries) provide three times the data

3575 MP - L06
3575 MP - L06: 60 cartridges storage slots with storage
capacity of 420GB to 1.2TB (with 3:1 compression).
3575 MP - L12
3575 MP - L12: 120 slots for storing cartridges 840GB -
2.5TB (3:1 compression) storage capacity. The L12 can accommodate two
additional drives (Magstar MP model B or model C) and can be configured as 1
or 2 user-defined logical libraries. The L-12 can be field upgraded to an
L18.
3575 MP - L18
3575 MP - L18: 180 slots for cartridges with 1.2TB -
3.7TB (3:1 compression) capacity. Four additional drives can be installed in
this model (Magstar MP model B or model C). The L18 can be configured as 1
or up to 3 user-defined logical libraries.
3575 MP L-24
3575 MP L-24: 240 slots for cartridge storage of 1.6TB -
5.0TB (3:1 compression). Four additional drives can be installed in this
model (Magstar MP model B or model C). The 3575 MP L-24 can be configured as
1 or up to 3 user-defined logical libraries. The L24 can be field upgraded
to an L32.
3575 MP L-32
3575 MP L-32: 324 slots for cartridge storage giving it
native storage capability of 2.2TB and up to 6.8TB in compressed mode of
near-on-line data access. Four additional drives can be installed in this
model (Magstar MP model B or model C). Model 3575 MP L-32 can be configured
as 1, 2 or 3 user-defined logical libraries.
Magstar MP 3575 L-06 is the
entry model of the Magstar MP 3575 family of automated tape libraries.
Model L-06 offers all the features and power of the Magstar MP system
sized for mid-range systems. Magstar MP L-06 offers a sustained data rate
of up to 108GB/hour, with maximum compression. Storage for 60 cartridges,
with a capacity of 420GB native and 1.2TB in compressed mode (3:1), is
provided. Two Magstar MP model C drives power this library, providing
near-on-line, reliable data access.

The dual picker locates and
retrieve a cartridge, holds it while unloading the active cartridge
in the drive, and then loads the new cartridge into the drive. This
features saves a complete cycle.
Media
C-XL format tape is used
with the Magstar MP model C tape drive. It is fast access, linear
tape, housed in a rugged cartridge designed for multiple
mounts/demounts. The design of this tape allows the tape to be
midpoint loaded providing fast access to data. 7GB native capacity
per cartridge.
Model L12:
Storage for 120 cartridges.
Capacity of 840GB native and 2.5 TB
(3:1compression).
Two Magstar MP model C tape drives -
standard.
Two additional drives can be installed in the
L12.
The library, with four drives, can be
configured as one or two logical libraries.
Sustained data rate - 216GB/hour
(maximum compression).
Model L18:
Storage for 180 cartridges.
Capacity of 1.2TB native and 3.7TB
(3:1compression).
Two Magstar MP model C drives - standard.
Four additional drives can be installed in
the L18.
The library, with six drives, can be
configured as one, two, or three, user defined logical libraries.
Sustained data rate - 324GB/hour (maximum
compression)
