THE STANDARD IN ENTERPRISE-CLASS LIBRARIES
The P3000 automated tape library sets the standard for extraordinary
performance, capacity and accessibility requirements of data-intensive
applications such as On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP), data
warehousing, e-commerce, image archiving, Storage Area Networks (SANs)
requiring Fibre Channel or Network-Attached Storage (NAS) using Ethernet
infrastructures.
HIGH-AVAILABILITY DESIGN AVOIDS COSTLY DOWNTIME
The P3000 comes from the only family of tape libraries with the same
high-availability features found in high-end server and RAID systems – designed
to keep the library on-line all the time. The P3000 offers redundant AC power
sources, power supplies and fans, and user-replaceable, hot-swap drives, power
supplies and fans. In addition, the P3000 includes Quantum|ATL's reliable
IntelliGrip™ precision cartridge handling system proven in thousands of
Quantum|ATL libraries.
MASSIVE PERFORMANCE AND CAPACITY FOR DATA-INTENSIVE APPLICATIONS
The P3000
delivers tremendous performance and capacity allowing you to spend less
time managing your data. A single P3000 library supports up to 16
DLT7000, DLT8000, Super DLTtape™ or LTO™ Ultrium™ drives and 326
cartridges for a data transfer rate of 1.27 TB per hour and a capacity
of 71.7 TB.1 In an eight-hour window, a single P3000 can backup or
restore 10.2 TB.1 The P3000 can also scale to 359 TB of storage and 6.34
TB per hour performance.1

ARCHITECTURE™ FOR "FUTURE PROOF" STORAGE
Quantum|ATL's Prism Storage Architecture™ makes the P3000 "future
proof". Harnessing the power of a PCI expansion bus, the P3000 makes it
easy to upgrade to Fibre Channel Storage Area Networks (SANs) and add
sophisticated web-based library management.2
PRISM STORAGE OPTIONS
Quantum|ATL’s Prism Storage Options are tools for integrating a P3000
into enterprise infrastructures. The Prism Fibre Channel option allows a
SCSI library to be easily converted to Fibre Channel enabling SAN
connectivity. The ALERT Notification option provides real-time
monitoring of critical library components allowing IT managers to
configure the library to provide instant e-mail notification of library
anomalies. To further simplify library management, an SNMP agent
integrates with major network management frameworks, such as, Computer
Associates® Unicenter TNG® and HP® OpenView2. The Storage Consolidation
Option allows IT managers to consolidate, reduce costs, and centralize
the management of heterogeneous environments by partitioning a single
library into multiple virtual libraries.
