Use SSD to increase the cache memory pool so that I/Os are accelerated before they go through the controller to the back-end disk drives. The larger the cache memory pool, the greater the likelihood of getting a cache hit without having to access the back-end disks—which results in greater application performance.
The Nexsan NST6000MC metro storage cluster is an integrated high availability and disaster recovery solution that extends data replication and failover capability from within a data center to remote sites. The NST6000MC metro storage cluster system is a unified storage system that supports both SAN and NAS protocols while leveraging the power of solid-state storage to accelerate the read performance of the underlying SAS and SATA drives housed in efficient Fibre Channel-connected E-Series storage arrays.

The Nexsan NST6000MC Metro Storage Cluster solution meets the need of mid-market and enterprise customers to protect and improve the availability of mission-critical applications and their data. It delivers a compact, yet scalable, integrated high availability and disaster recovery solution that extends data replication and failover capability from within a data center to a campus site or to a metro site located up to 10km away.
As part of the NST6000 unified hybrid storage portfolio, the NST6000MC supports both SAN and NAS protocols while leveraging the power of solid-state storage to accelerate the read performance of the underlying SAS and SATA drives housed in efficient Fibre Channel-connected E-Series storage arrays. The net result is a lower cost-per-I/O and a lower total cost of ownership.
The NST6000MC Metro Storage Cluster is positioned both for the mid-market and the enterprise. There are three cluster controller node models: the NST6330, the NST6530 and the NST6730.
