The Nexsan E48™/E48V™/E48VT™  and the Nexsan E60™/E60V™/E60VT™ are: 4U , rack-mountable RAID storage systems which can hold up to 48 or 60 SATA, SAS, or SSD data disks. The base models of the Nexsan E60™ and Nexsan E48™ use: 3Gb/s SAS for internal communication between the RAID Controllers and hard disks. The V and VT variants use 6Gb/s SAS for internal communication. The VT variants also have a turbo card installed in each RAID Controller which optimizes sequential writes in parity-based RAIDs. There is no upgrade path between the base models and either the V or VT variants.
